Uganda has named its low‑sulphur crude as ‘Pearl Sweet’ and appointed Vitol’s Bahrain subsidiary to lead international marketing, as the country edges closer to first oil.

Energy Minister Dr Monica Musenero told a ceremony at the Kingfisher oil project in Kikuube District that Uganda would soon begin promoting its crude just as it prepares to export.
