DRC plans first census in 42 years

Forty-two years after the last population census in 1984, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has kicked off the process of organising another one. 

Faced with a population now estimated at 112 million, President Félix Tshisekedi said the second General Population and Housing Census (RGPH-2) is meant to provide solid data to base decisions rather than on approximation.
