The wait is over. Cameroon’s President Paul Biya has announced that he will seek an eighth term in office when the country votes in the presidential election on October 12. This comes amid calls for new leadership in the country.
Biya, aged 92, is not only the oldest head of state worldwide, but also Africa’s second-longest serving president. He came to power in 1982.
