Catholic bishops in Cameroon are calling on the world’s oldest president and one of Africa’s longest-serving leaders Paul Biya not to seek re-election when the central African country holds crucial elections in October this year.
They say his longevity in power and his advanced age and ill health warrant a “well-deserved retirement”.
