Uganda authorities say they are investigating history of travellers who have turned up with Ebola after arriving in other countries, widening the spread of the virus across the continent.

At the same time, health authorities said they had tightened Ebola screening at major points of entry, after receiving thermal scanners from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to support monitoring.
