The paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) may have stolen a match on its Sudan rivals last week, after signing what has been called a roadmap or charter for a new government of peace and unity with allied groups.

However, keeping that coalition intact is proving to be a war in itself for RSF. This week, it emerged that wrangling between members over the scope of the coalition and who should lead it were threatening to tear it apart.
