Zambia goes to the polls on Thursday in the general election widely expected to give President Hakainde Hichilema a second term.
Hichilema’s party, the United Party for National Development (UPND), also expects to win parliamentary majority after the main opposition failed to field candidates in nearly one-third of parliamentary seats. UPND has already won 15 seats unopposed.
