Israeli diplomats in Nairobi cast their ballots on Thursday, twelve days before their country goes to elections, in polls that come on the backdrop of a never-ending Middle East crisis.
Speaking at the embassy on Limuru Road, Israeli Ambassador to Kenya Gideon Behar said the exercise was under way at all 112 Israeli missions around the world. "The vote is a small act for a citizen, but a very significant action for democracy," he said. The sealed ballot box will be sent to Israel and counted with the national vote.
