Tanzania’s park authorities mounted an operation on Thursday to contain a fire that broke out on Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain.

By Friday, efforts to contain the fire were still ongoing, with conservation stakeholders and residents from nearby villages joining in.
