The East African Business Council (EABC) has published a new roadmap for State interventions required to remove remaining major obstacles to regional trade flows and harmonious economic growth in the next three years.

Priorities include minimising stays of applications and country-specific duty remissions on agreed East African Community (EAC) external tariff rates, eliminating non-tariff barriers (NTBs) that are outstanding, and reviewing EAC rules of origin criteria, to align with requirements under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement.
