The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank have overhauled their Debt Sustainability Analysis (DSA) framework for developing economies, ushering a new era for African economies heading to the global capital markets to raise financing for fiscal needs.
Among the notable changes in the overhaul is the decision to drop the net present value of debt to exports indicator as a part of the broader matrix used to assess the sustainability of a developing economy’s debt.
