For most Cameroonians, Paul Biya is the only president they’ve ever known. At 92, he’s the world’s oldest head of state and has led Cameroon for over four decades.

The Constitutional Council—Cameroon’s electoral arbiter—declared him winner of the 2025 presidential election, securing an eighth term.
