The UN Security Council is backing the continuity of two mediation processes on the Democratic Republic of Congo, with warnings of additional sanctions if violence doesn’t not end.

On Friday, the 15-member Council passed a unanimous resolution that condemned the violence of M23 rebel group said to be backed by Rwanda as well as the Congolese support for the FDLR rebels and asked for immediate ceasefire.
