Starting October 12, 2025, travellers to the European Union will have their travel document data and personal information registered electronically instead of manual passport stamps.

Under the new EU travel rules, non-EU travellers will be required to provide biometric data -- fingerprints and a facial image -- at the border under the Entry/Exit System (EES), replacing manual stamping, with full implementation by April 2026.
