Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) listed CIC Insurance has announced plans to enter the Uganda and South Sudan markets after its profits after tax jumped by more than two times during its first year as a public company.

The company which listed its shares at the Nairobi bourse by introduction in July last year, on Wednesday said that its profit after tax hit Ksh1.38 billion ($16.14 million) for the period ended December last year from Ksh584.21 million ($6.86 million) for the period ended December 2011.
