Sudan war blows up half its GDP

New Ifpri report warns of catastrophic economic and social consequences in Sudan if the armed conflict continues to the end of 2025.

Sudan will have lost half of its economic value by December this year if the war continues. The country will shoulder costs as high as $30 billion, or half of its GDP, on repair of its infrastructure, according to a consortium of war monitors.

The International Food Policy Research Institute (Ifpri) has warned of catastrophic economic and social consequences if the armed conflict continues to the end of 2025.
