Jubbaland leader Ahmed Mohamed Islam, alias Ahmed Madobe, has won a third term in office, bulldozing through a wall of resistance to holding elections, notably from the Federal Government of Somalia.
The Mogadishu-based government was opposed to his re-election bid, describing the third term as exceeding the two-term limit.
