Ethiopia is preparing to withdraw more than 3,000 troops from Somalia as renewed fighting in northern Tigray puts pressure on Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s government to redirect military resources to internal conflicts, according to a Bloomberg report.

The troops could begin leaving Somalia in the coming days or weeks, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorised to discuss the plans publicly.
