Sudan crisis: Time to turn the lights back on

Sudan’s war has spiraled into famine and disease, with millions trapped between hunger, cholera, and a collapsing state.

Three years ago, Sudan buzzed with the rhythm of daily life, the call to prayer, the laughter of children, and the vibrant trade of the markets.

On April 15, 2023, that rhythm was shattered by gunfire. Today, Sudan is the epicentre of the world’s largest humanitarian crisis, with more than 14 million people forced to flee. The nation’s lifelines, such as its hospitals, schools, and markets, have been systematically dismantled. Yet, amid this devastation, Sudanese voices continue to rise, not in defeat, but with resilience.
