Reform UK, the British right-wing party led by Nigel Farage, has threatened to halt visas for nationals of countries seeking compensation from the United Kingdom over its role in the transatlantic slave trade and colonial rule.

The party’s home affairs spokesperson, Zia Yusuf, told the Daily Telegraph that calls for reparations were “insulting”. He said an estimated 3.8 million visas had been granted over the past 20 years to people from countries pursuing such claims.
