The World Health Organisation (WHO) has pulled its emergency lever once again, declaring the latest Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo ‘a public health emergency of international concern.’

The virus is spreading across the region, having emerged in the dust of Mongbwalu in northeastern Ituri before spreading to Bunia and Goma. As of this week, the official health ledger stands at over 600 suspected cases and 140 deaths. Worse still, the fire has leapt across borders.
