Kenya has agreed to temporarily suspend a new policy on cargo imports under which traders were to pay duty based on the valuation of consolidated goods rather than the size of the cargo.

The changes had sparked widespread protests from freight forwarders and importers, prompting negotiations between the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) and the Kenya International Freight and Warehousing Association (KIFWA).
