Presidential candidate Yoweri Museveni spent the bigger part of October canvassing votes from West Nile, a region that lies in the farthest northwestern corner of Uganda, bordering South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The region owes its peace to the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party of Museveni, who found it fragmented and abandoned as the people had gone to exile fleeing from military turbulence. For Museveni, this is his perfect example of restoration.
