Regional players in international affairs are this week weighing the impact of Washington’s decision to withdraw from dozens of global organisations, including key UN agencies. And the overriding concern is that President Donald Trump’s move could stall or even reverse gains made in curbing violent extremism, narrowing gender gaps, and expanding reproductive health services.
